“The Executive” – ESTJ

By tessa on February 25, 2016

I am sure most of you have heard of the Myers-Briggs personality test. I had always heard about it but never actually completed the test, mainly just because I didn’t want to pay for it. So when I stumbled upon 16personalities.com I was intrigued. I began completing the personality test and in less than 10 minutes I was done. The results are actually quite accurate.

As I read through my results I was really excited to see things that I knew deep down I was really good at it but also surprised by others. You can read through my results here and follow along.

Mind – Extraverted. This was no surprise to me at all. I love people and enjoy being in groups of people whether it be working or socially. However, I didn’t think I would be dominantly extraverted because I do also enjoy alone, quiet time where I can just focus on “getting stuff done.”

Energy – Observant. This makes total sense. I definitely lean towards being more practical and worrying about today, rather than focusing on tomorrow. However, I do feel like I also am very skilled at planning ahead and seeing a vision and following through with that.

Nature – Thinking. This one is right on, and I am actually surprised that this isn’t more of a “home-run” for thinking vs feeling. I am very much about the facts and do not let emotions cloud my judgement. However, I will admit at the end of the day, if I didn’t have a family to consider I would take in every stray dog that came along – and with social media I could become a crazy dog lady pretty quickly.

Tactics – Judging. This is very much who I am. I am obsessively organized & thorough and enjoy being that way. There is nothing that gets me more excited than finishing up an organizing project and seeing my end results. You should have seen how happy I was after I came up with a system for organizing my children’s toys.

Identity – Assertive. I would have to disagree with the part about not pushing themselves too much to achieve goals. I definitely push myself to complete my goals, however, there is rarely a time where I need to push too much, because my goals are practical and organized, they are completed easily and naturally. Other then that, its right on, AGAIN. I do not stress about very much and if I am feeling stressed, it is very easily resolved. I definitely handle stress and chaos very well.

These results only help solidify the fact that my next career venture needs to be one involving management of people in some way, however, web development is my passion and that definitely needs to play a big part as well.

I’ve been long interested in Myers-Briggs (and own a few books on the topic). I wish I’d seen this before Midcamp.

Yay, a comment! 🙂
